Session 3

Explore the truth: God loves

As you begin to gather as a Circle, take this time to share food and drink and discuss any questions you have been reflecting on. These three questions may help to start your discussion.

Belong - Where do I belong?
Believe - What do I believe?
Become - Who do I want to become?

Sign of the Cross

I have been created from love,
for a life of love,
lived with a God of love.

Guide me by grace,
through faith,
to a new life and mission.

Glory Be
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.

“Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
John 3:16-17

God loves you.

This is a clear articulation of an unending reality. It does not matter if you have heard this before or not. God loves you. Never doubt. Always know, that at every moment, you are infinitely loved.

Our understanding of love is often shaped by the type of love we receive from others. For some, your father might have been far from perfect. God the Father, the One who first gave you life and continues to breath life into you, will continue to love you perfectly.

The love that God has for you is expressed in as many ways as you can imagine.

His love has the affection and protection of a Father.
His love has the care and devotion of a Mother.
His love has an intimacy and reckless abandon of a lover.
His love comes with a strength, steadfastness and invincibility.
His love has awaited from eternity to be poured into the world; into your world.
His love sees in you a beauty that none other can see.
His love brings pure, untamed joy.

For God, you are not insignificant. You are worthy. He does not keep track of your failings. Why? Because He loves you. In every moment, God is calling you to enter more fully into a relationship of love. This is a relationship of openness and dialogue. Seek the closeness of this relationship, and never forget: God loves you.
